Praise be to the Lord my rock who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. Psalms 144:1
David was a mighty warrior who killed lions, bears and a giant. His most impressive acts were not performed by a sword, or sling but by words. David composed many of the Psalms of praise and adoration to God. He wrote about winning and losing. He wrote about the beauty of God that he saw while tending the sheep, looking at the green pastures, walking beside running streams of water and watching the clouds breeze by.
Moses, who led millions of slaves to freedom, wrote the books of the law. Men like Isaiah, Daniel, and Jeremiah wrote prophesies of Christ’s coming. Jesus himself told many parables that Matthew, Mark and John recorded. All of these written words have influenced our world, history, wars, and your life right now.
The power of the written word should never be taken lightly.
1 Corinthians 10:31-33, says, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble…. for we should not seek our own good, but the good of many.”
